getInstance

public static JVM getInstance()

Get a JVM instance that represents the current JVM.

Returns:

The instance.

haveRequisites

public boolean haveRequisites(org.slf4j.Logger logger)
                       throws JVM.VersionException

Check the JVM is the right version, has the right optional components installed, and so on. If there are problems, report them to the logger and return false.

Parameters:

logger - Where to report any problems.

Returns:

true => we have everything.

Throws:

JVM.VersionException - If the JVM's version could not be parsed.

isAtLeastVersion

public boolean isAtLeastVersion(int minimumMajor,
                       int minimumMinor)
                         throws JVM.VersionException

Check whether the JVM is of given version or later.

Parameters:

minimumMajor - Major version number.

minimumMinor - Minor version number.

Returns:

true => the JVM is at least the requested version.

Throws:

JVM.VersionException - If the JVM's version could not be parsed.

toString

Return a description of the JVM.
